1. What is your background and education?
I am one of the few Florida natives, born and raised in Winter Park. I graduated from The University of Florida with a Masters in Accounting with Tax Specialization. I started my CPA career with two well respected local CPA firms for 8 years, then spent 12 years as a Controller/CFO for two large nonprofit organizations. I missed the interaction with small business owners so I started my own Firm in 2008 and merged with Jack Trent & Co January 2022.
2. What are your areas of expertise in the accounting/bookkeeping field?
I was trained as an auditor and tax preparer, then got several years experience as a CFO so I know both sides of the desk as the in-house accountant and as the outside consultant currently focusing on LLC’s, S Corps and Partnerships and their owners.
3. Any certifications or awards?
Certified Public Accountant, Member of the Florida and American Institutes of CPA’s and QuickBooks certified.
4. What service are you passionate about in the accounting field?
I love helping small businesses navigate the ever-increasing complexity of the Internal Revenue Code and especially when we show them the tax savings achieved by using a professional tax prepare.
5. What is a quote you like to live by?
Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you.
