Meet Michael
Michael C. Flowers is a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over four decades of experience in public accounting, working with clients ranging from small emerging businesses to larger, established companies. As the Managing Member of Flowers, Rieger & Associates, PLLC for over 30 years, Michael has demonstrated expertise in a variety of areas including management consulting, income tax and estate tax planning, retirement planning, and financial planning. His experience encompasses incorporation, pension issues, and providing support to emerging and start-up businesses.
Michael began his career at Ernst & Young in New York City as an Audit Senior Accountant before moving to Coopers & Lybrand in Tucson, where he served as Tax and Audit Senior Accountant. He later became a Partner at Crable, Parson & Dooley CPA’s before founding Flowers, Rieger & Associates, PLLC in 1984.
His dedication to his field has been recognized with notable accolades, such as being named Small Business Leader of the Year by the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. Michael is actively involved in professional organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arizona and New York Societies of Certified Public Accountants.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Michael has a rich history of community involvement, serving on various committees and boards. His roles have included positions with the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Arizona Theater Company, and Arizona Association of Business Brokers. He has also shown leadership in the American Marketing Association, Tucson Chapter, and held board positions with the American Diabetes Association and Arizona Icecat Hockey, Inc.
A graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, Michael earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with Magna Cum Laude honors in accounting in 1976. He remains actively engaged in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation as a Board Member and Major Gifts Chairman. Michael is recognized for his significant contributions to his field, his community, and his commitment to professional and philanthropic endeavors.
